    Watering those phalluses with Diktamus tea make them stand up like ever before.

    Diktamus (Dictamus origanus) 50gr

     

    Afrodosiac - Slows the age process - Intestinal and stomach -Dermatological - Treatment of wounds.

     

    This herb is found in the wild mountains of Crete at 1400m above sea level. In ancient times it was the islands biggest export article due to its healing and stimulating properties. The local name for this plant is the “erotic” herb since it is widely known that it stimulates the sex life, and is regarded also as slowing the age process in man. Many believe that if you put leaves in your warm bath,and stays therein for about 30 minutes,then you will have an consistent urge to have good sex.

    Another important aspect of Dictamus is its healing properties for all kind of wounds. It is documented that wild goats that were wounded by hunters in ancient times ate Diktamus to get well. It has been widely used as compresses on wounds, plus drinking it in order to heal ulcers etc. Generally it is used as a medicine for stomach and intestinal diseases. Hippokrates used it widely to treat all kind of dermatological problems. To be avoided by pregnant women since it has been used to cause the early termination of pregnancy.

    A wild goat struck by a poisonus arrow eats Diktamus leaves in order to get well.

    How to use it

    As a tea you will put 5-10gr of Diktamus in one liter boiling water (tea-pot) and then let is stand for about 10 minutes. We drink two cups a day.

    As a boiled tea we use 10-15gr leaves in half a litre of water, let it reach the boiling point, take it off the stove and let it stay for 20 minutes before filtering the content.

    As a compress you let the leaves in a small amount of boiled water, then wrap the vet leaves in gauze for the compress.

    Another use is to put 15-20gr into wine or spirit. After some days you can drink it little by little (not more than 50gr a day for 3-4 days).

     

     

    Chamomile (Matricaria Chamomilla) 50gr

     Slimming - Fever treatment - Barrier against cold and influensa - Stomach pains - Kidney and intestinal problems - Calming - Rheumatic pains.
     

    From the classical greek period up to today this herb is used as a medicament to get down the fever. The species has over 70 variants, and grows in all Europe and the USA.

    The greek version, though, is especially appreciated due to its high content of aromatic oils (9.36%). Usually it is used as barrier for colds and influensas, before going to bed due to its relaxing properties, for all kinds of stomach pains, to have a positive influence on the kidneys, to dissolve all kinds of salts in the body and to have a calming effect on the intestines. It is also used in childrens bathtub since it is considered to produce a calming effect. Another very important use is as a natural slimming product since to cups on an empty stomach before going to bed will accelerate the burning of calories in your body, and thus produce a continuing diet without any negative side effects.

    Chamomile extracted in pure alchol together with other herbs is used to produce a special cream that help to reduce rheumatic pains.

     

    How to use it

     

    We use one full soup spoon of Chamomile to one cup of boiled water, let it stand for 10 minutes, filter it and then drink it. If it is used for slimming it must be drunk on an empty stomach and without any sugar added. Best is to drink one cup in the morning and one in the evening before going to bed. This one can do for a period of one month.

    As a cure for anorexia we recommend the boiled tea where the amount is approximately 4-5 flowers for each cup. It is recommended to drink one cup 30 minutes before each meal. To make the boiled tea you put the flowers together with the water, heat it to the boiling point and then take it off the stove and let it stay for 20 minutes before flitering it.

    For the bath we let 300gr of chamomile flowers in a pot of freshly boiled water for 10 minutes and then filter the liquid into the warm bath.

    Excessive use of Chamomile can be the cause of dizziness, trembling of the hands and headache.

     Sage ( Salvia Officinalis) 50gr

    Loss of hair - Low blood pressure - Against colds - Night sweat and perspiration - Swollen gums and infammed throat - Digestinal - General weakness - Menstrual irregularities - Weak memory - Flaccid facial skin.

     

    This is a herb widely used for its medicinal properties.

    Since it is a very strong tasting herb generally we make put two tablespoons of dried, chopped leaves in one litre of water, raise to boil and allow to stand.

    It can be drunk as a hot tea against colds two or three times a day. If one has exessive perspirations and night sweat this will generally be cured if you drink one glass of cold sage tea (see recipe above) before going to bed.

    The sage is also very effective against inflammed throats and swollen gums which will recede using the tisane as a gargle or a mouth wash. It is recommended for people with low blood pressure and for persons that have digestinal problems.

    Generally it is also used as a remedy against stomach troubles, general weakness, menstrual irregularities and weak memory where it is drunk as a tea or in place of water (see recipe above).

    The Sage is also considered to be effective against loss of hair, balding. In this case you frequently massage the scalp with the above tisane. Repeat regularly over a considerable period.

     

    It is also effective against flaccid skin(facial). Boil the leaves as described above and hold face over the pot for 10 minutes or so covering the head and the pot with a towel to prevent the steam from escaping. Alternatively, dip a cloth into the tea and use it as a compress.

    Care must be taken, though, against exessive use since it can cause a rise in the blood pressure. It must also not be taken by people with haematuria (blood in the urine).

     

    How to use it

    As a tea 23 we use 20gr of leaves and flowers in one litre of boiled water (tea-pot) and let it stay for 10 minutes before drinking it. We drink up to 3 cups a day.

    In powdered form we use 1-4 gr a day together with a little water.

    Fo people that feel down both phycologically and physically it is recommended to put 80gr of Sage in onle litre of good red wine for one week. Then you take unitl 3 table spoons of this wine after each meal. This is also a good therapy for people with kidney problems.

    If there is a problem with loss of hair it is recommended to wash the hair with water that has been staying for at least 1 hour with Sage inside.

     

    For mouth wash and compresses (dermatological problems) we use the technique of boiled tea where a handfull of Sage is put into 1 litre of water, let it reach the boiling point, take it off the stove and then let it for 20 minutes before filtering it.

    Care must be taken, though, against exessive use since it can cause a rise in the blood pressure. It must also not be taken by people with haematuria (blood in the urine). Also it is not a herb to be drunken days on end , we recommend stop regularely. It is forbidden to drink by women who is giving milk since it will make it bitter in taste.

    Lime (Tilia platyphyllos) 50gr
     
    Insomnia - Migraine - Rheumatism - Remedy against wrinkles - Lumbago - Arthritis - Kidney.

     
    This is not exactly a herb in its strict form since it comes from a large deciduous tree/Lime-tree with heart-shaped, somewhat asymmetrical leaves. It is one of the best remedies available for insomnia/unableness to sleep. Making a tea out of its flowers and drinking it hot before going to bed relaxes the body and soul, and sleep will come much more easier.

    It has also been used in the form of a poultice as a remedy against wrinkles and freckles. Other uses is against rheumatism, lumbago and arthritis.

    Theophrastus mentions lime under the name of philira. The flowers contain the aromatic substance pharnesol, as well as tannin, mucilage, hesperic, wax, sugar etc.

    It is generally known that if one leaves flowers in a white,dry wine for about two weeks the liquid will disintegrate any stones in the kidney and also help against migraine.

     

    How to use it

    The normal method is to drink it as a classical tea putting 15-30gr of flowers into 1 litre of boiing water (tea-pot) and then let it stay 10 minutes before drinking it. Recommended use is two-three cups a day.

    For congestinal problems, arthritis and rheymatism is recommended to use the boiled tea where 30 gr of flowers is put in 500ml water, let is rise to boil, take it off the stove and then let it stand 20 minutes before filtering it. This liquid we can keep in the fridge drinking three cups a day.

     

      

     

      

    Marjoram (Origanum Majorana) 50gr
     

    Stress - Headache - Treatment of vocal cords - Anorexia.
     

    This herb has been used for ages and effectively combats stress and headaches. The ancient Syrians, Arabs, Greeks and Egyptians considered it a medicinal plant where it was used both as a tea and as a supplement to the bath (the body regains its vitality).

    Singers has alsways been using it in order to keep their voices pristine drinking a marjoram extract together with honey.

    The marjoram as a tea also help people with anorexia problems since it stimulates the appetite.

     

    How to use it

    As a tea putting one table spoon of Marjoram in on cup of boiling water letting it stay 10 minutes before drinking. Recommended use is thwo or three cups a day.

    If there is a problem of nervous headache, spasms in the belly, digesting problems the it is recommended to use the boiled tea. We put one handfull of Marjoram in 500 ml of water, let it boil, take it off the stove and let it stay for 20 minutes before filtering it. The liquid can be cept in the fridge for days.

     

     

     

       

    Spearmint (Mentha piperita) 30gr

    Afrodosiac - Indigestion - Diarrhea - Intestinal - Kidney - Menstrual.

     
    This herb is used widely in The Arab world as it is considered a stimulant for a good sex life. Also the greek philosophers thought it has great medical value and in ancient greece it was a common practice to rub the dinner table with Spearmint before the meal.

    It is especially effective against indigestion and diarrhea. Also it will “fix” the stomach after vomiting and reduce the pains if one have intestinal problems.

    Drinking the tea made out of the herb will help you to urinate and assist the kidney to function better. It also help to reduce the pain for women who has their menstrual period.

    Useful tip : Rats and mice will not touch food that smells of Spearmint so if you have a problem in your country house you only spread a little Spearmint around.

     

     

    How to use it

    You can use it cold putting a spoon of leaves into a cup of cold water, let it stay for an hour and then sip it litlle by little.

    Also recommended as a boiled tea where you put 10gr of leaves into 1 litre of water, let it reach the boiling point, take it off the stove and then let it stay for 20 minutes before filtering it. You can drink up to three cups a day.

    Mountain Tea (s. syriaca) 50gr

     
    The health brew of our time.Best there is.
     

    This herb grows wild in the greek mountains and is used by all the greek country people. As a tea it gives a positive stimulant throughout the day for the body and soul, and help as a barrier for a wide array of illnesses.

    Can be drunk cold (ice tea) or as a warm brewery in any quantity without side effects.

    Wonderful as a morning tea to prepare you for a healthy and good start of the day.

     

    How to use it

    As a classical hot tea putting a handful of flowers and leaves into 1 litre of boiled water (tea-pot), let it stand for 10 minutes and then drink it.

    As a boiled tea you can store it in the fridge and use it as an ice tea during hot days.

      

     

      Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) 100gr

    Alcholic treatment - Swollen gums - Antibiotic - Arthritis - Rheumatism -

    Balding - Anti Bacteria.

     
    We are talking about one of the most famous herbs that have a wide array of medical uses. The Roman soldiers used to bath in water with Thyme in order to give them vitality and health. In the Middle Ages the ladies gave wandering knights branches of Thyme for the same reason.

    It is a herb that is famous for killing all kind of bacterias and it helps agains stress, kidney problems, migraine and all kind of infections. It is also used as a rheumatic pain stopper, against coughs, it slows the arthritis problem and to stop the loss of hair.

    It is often used as a sort of a natural preliminary antibiotic when there is infuensa epidimies going on and mouth wash made out of thyme gives therapy to swollen gums and help against tooth ache.

    Due to its bitter taste it is normally mixed with other herbs.

    In its pure form as a tea it has the rumour that it will help an alcholocic to cut the drinking since it will make him vomite, feel dizzy, sweat and in general feel a distaste for alchohol. This “therapy” must continue for a certain amount of time in order to have effect.

    The widest and most common use of this herb is in the preparing of food (see Magic Cooking).

     

    How to use it

    As a therapy for alcholism you put one handfull of Thyme into 3 cups of water and let it stay for about 1 hour. Then one spoonful every 15 minutes is enough for the distaste of alcholol to take place.

    The normal method is as a tea where we put around 20 gr in 1 litre of boiling water, let it stand for 10 minutes and then drinking it hot. Due to its bitter taste it is often used together with other herbs. It can also be used as a boiled tea putting 50gr into 500ml of water, let it until the boiling point, take it off the stove and keep it for 20 minutes before filtering. Recommended use is up to three cups a day.

    For arthritis, rheumatism and severe colds it is recommended to put 500gr of Thyme into 4 litre of boiling water and then add this hot tea water into the bath.

    As a remedy against the loss of hair we boil one handfull of Thyme into 1 litre of water and let it boil until the water level is half. With this we will wash the hair one time and then a second time with the more thick liquid that is at the bottom rubbing it well into the scalp and letting it stay 5 minutes before rinsing.

    With this herb one can also produce a very nice mans cologne/after shave by putting 10gr of Thyme flowers into 250 gr of clear spirit, the bottle is closed with cork and we let it stay in they sun 2-3 weeks in the summer. After that we filtrate it and the cologne is ready.

    Baleriana (Baleriana officinalis) 50gr

    Slimming, Calming of nerves, headaches, insomnia, nervous asthma, intestinal, child spasms, hiccup, diabetics.
     

    This is a very good herb for slimming and to calm the nervous system. Often it is used in small doses to cure headaches and to calm the nerves.

    Also it will help against insomnia, nervous asthma, parasites in the intestinal system, child spasms, hiccup, the craving thirst of diabetics and hypermania.

    Excessive amounts can cause headache and a general bad feeling in the body.

     

    How to use it : It is recommended that after continuous use for one week that there is a stop for two or three weeks before restarting.

    As a slimming product we recommend that you put 20 gr of the chopped root into 1 liter of water, let it reach the boiling point and take it off the stove letting it stay for 20 minutes. Then you filter the content and the Baleriana tea is ready. Recommended is one cup in the morning and one in the evening.

    If you have problems to sleep (insomnia) you will let 100gr chopped roots of Balerian in cold tap water for 10 hours, drain it and then drink one cup before going to bed. In order to avoid the somewhat bad smell of the Balerian we can add some Marjoram to the water.

    As concerned to child spasms this is only used in the bathtub (we add the water of the boiled root).

    In general we chop 10gr of roots in 1 litre water, let it reach the boiling point and then stay for 20-30 minutes. You can then keep the liquid in the fridge.

    A few changes in your diet can do wonders for your body and soul.     Honey 600 gr

     

    Honey from the mountains of Greece. The bees gather it from wild Thyme flowers that has not been touched by any pollution, and the honey is collected by traditional methods without any factory intervention.

    Honey, which is the main product of the bee hive, is from ancient times used as a wonder medicine for all kind of illnesses. It is considered afrodosiac and to gived the man eternal youth.

    The honey consist mainly of suger in a form that is immediately absorbed by our body, thus giving it a thrust of energy. Pure and good honey will crystallize in cold weather but applying a little heat by bain-marie will liquify it without causing any lowering of its quality.

     


     

     

     

    Caper ( Capparis spinosa) 200gr

     

    This is a plant that grow on rocks in the arid islands of the Agean sea. Its flowers blossom only on day before they wither away. The buds are collected by hand in May, and need only a little salt on top in order to stay fresh even for two or three years. It is a wonderful additon to all kind of salads, and is used also as a companion to fish, fowl and different sauces.

    Only a light sprinkle of the caper buds on top of a salad will change it into something magic for your taste buds.

    As a Magic herb it was known in ancient greece (and today) as a very good remedy to open up the apetitie since it contains a special acid that wake up the stomach. It is also know as a slight afrodisiac, and to have a positive influence on the kidneys.

    Olives 500gr

      These olives you sure have not tasted since they are a speciality of the island Thasos. Ing greek they are called “Troubes” because of their wrinkled apperance. The olives are left on the ground for some time before they are harvested. The result is marvellous, and they do not need any vinegar/salt water/oil in order to keep pristine.     Oregan (Origanum vulgare) 50gr

     

    This herb is ideal for :

    1. “Greek salad” over tomato/cucumber/onion/olives/green pepper and olive oil.
    2. To sprinkle it on meat, poyltry and fish in the oven or on the charcoals, together with olive oil and lemon juice.
    3. For veal with lemon and onions cooked in some olive oil. Serve with steamed potatoes or rice.
    4. In all kind of tomato sauces for spaghetti and meat.

    Laurel leaves (Laurus nobilis) 30gr

     

    In ancient greece they used the leaves to make wreaths for heros and winners. It was so connected with good fortune and health that is was considered bad luck indeed if a Laurel tree was damaged.

    In cooking, the laurel leaves are used for :

    1. A typical ingredient inside lence soup together with tomato juice and olive oil.
    2. Also excellent to put into all meat stews or meat soups.

    Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) 50gr

     

    An excellent herb for baked pork in the oven or any meat stewed with oil/onions in low heat. Ca also be used as a garniture with olive oil on grilled chicken.

     

    Sage (Salvia officinalis) 50gr

     

    A strong tasting herb that is excellent in small quantities for poultry, lamb and pork. It has to be cooked well together with the meat.

    Parsley (Petroselinum sativum) 50gr

    Goes with youghourt mixtures, with African Taboule (tomatoes, wheat, fresh cucumber, garlic, onion) and vegetable stews(aubergine, gresh green beans, zucchinis etc.). Excellent for all kind of fish.The nutrional value of this herb is very important since it contains basic salts and metals for our body.

    Thyme ( Thumus vulgaris) 100gr

    To sprinkle on chicken or lamb, and bake in the oven.
